People are hungry, in this village identified after a survey as one of the most desperate places!!!!
They are cracking 'engol' - a palm fruit, as most other food is no longer available.

A child helping his mother to Crack the fruit, to get the 'tasty' flesh to eat.

Maize, beans and Uji (porridge) mix and oil arrive in the village church, ready for giving out.

This Mama has her share, 45kg of Maize, 20kg of beans, 3l of oil and 5kg of Uji mix (mostly for the smaller children)

The relief food was first off loaded to the Church (of CMF - who Keshule worked with to get his food distributed), so that order could be maintained while giving it out!!!

People we really satisfied and thankful for the food they received

Maize in storage, ready for the next distribution trip!!

In Napak Village keshule was able to give out the tools and seed THATmission was able to buy through kind donations - of parteners both local to Kenya and overseas.

Lokuda - one of the Church Elders and a farmer (who was one of the first farmers in the area) receiving seed, millet, spinach, tomatoes, onions, water melon and kale - some for consumption by him and his family, some by other village people, also some of the seeds bought are for produce which will hopefully be sold in Lodwar town!!!!!

An older Mama and her son, receiving and Panga (machete), Jembe (digging tool) and seeds.

Ten sets of tools we bought to give out to people!!! - More needed!!!! for the next four villages!!!!

The variety of seeds that THATmission was able to give out - thanks to all who partnered, more as still needed!

As well as helping to meet people's physical needs, so too are people's Spiritual needs addressed, Keshule gave this older guy his Audio Turkana Bible - New Testament! - even more of these are needed (despite the fact we are doing literacy - the older people especially need these Audio Bibles to hear the word of God!!!!

Traditional drums for the first and second Churches!!!!

Our friends Gene and Melba Morden of CMF (Christian Missionary Fellowship) are working hard to dig wells and get gardens established all over Turkana!!! This is an exapmple of what CAN happen with SUSTAINABLE development!!!!!!!

A girl watering a garden, with water from one of the wells!!!
It was a really good time for Keshule this trip in Turkana. It was very practical, to organise a Lorry full of maize (at an amazing price - God's favor!!!) to get to Turkana, to get beans oil and Uji mix at GOOD prices in Lodwar! To team up with Gene in getting the first load of food out to a very needy area - was great. It was wonderful to be able to give the Church and community seeds and tools in order that they might be able to feed themselves!! ANYONE who wants to partner with THATmission in getting sustainable development rooted into these villages then please drop us and e.mail!!! edapal.turkana@yahoo.co.uk.
THANKS - from Keshule!!!
Awesome news, Keshule and Ali and really good to see all the photos! God bless, Liz
